Ryan Fox won a dramatic eliminatory match of four holes against Sam Burns to win the RBC Canadian Open, his second PGA Tour title.
The New Zealander put on a 4-foot sneak putt on the 18th to take him to the play-off, Burns keeping the advance of the 18 sous clubhouse, after having carded with eight-mine of 62, until the last moments of the fourth round.
Fox, which started the day in a share of the head, recorded a Bogey, four under 66, while Burns increased the ranking with nine Birdies and a lonely Bogey.
Then, the drama ensued with the pivotal moment coming to the fourth additional hole in the 18th by five.
It was Fox who intensified when he set up an incredible Eagle opportunity, although Burns also left him an external chance with a forehand in the heart of green, but it was the 38 -year -old kiwi who had played an amazing.
However, with the pressure on, Burns, seeking a sixth victory of PGA Tour but his first since March 2023, awkwardly exploded his eagle putt and then missed the putt for Birdie too.
This offered Fox Two Putts for his second PGA Tour victory and he used both, typing for Birdie and the victory.
The RBC Canadian Open adds to Fox’s victory at Myrtle Beach Classic, which he also obtained through a play-off last month for his first PGA Tour victory.
The first two holes of play-offs of 18 saw Fox and Burns leaving with Pars, the first leaving a short putt in the greatest opportunity to obtain a birdie.
With the location of the brooch moved for the third attempt, the two had to go back bad shots to save the peer, the effort of Burns almost ending up in the water after having brought back green, but it was Fox who finally prevailed in the fourth attempt.
Meanwhile, Kevin Yu, Matt McCarty and Cameron Young qualified for the 153rd Open in Royal Portrush through Canada Open.
Yu claimed the first qualification place after finishing third behind the burns and Fox already exempt from 17 under the peer, a stroke in front of McCarty and Young who were equally fourth out of 16 under the peer.
The Italian Matteo Manassero, which had shared the head with Fox after three laps, returned to equality for sixth row by 15 sous after a less than 69, while Shane Lowry equaled the 13th to the 13th under a 67 which would have been disappointing after taking a start of trouble with an eagle followed by three birdies on the first four holes.
