Antonio Rudiger was allegedly abused during the victory of the Real Madrid World Cup on the Mexican side Pachuca on Sunday, said manager Xabi Alonso.
Alonso confirmed that a complaint had been filed after an incident towards the end of the 3-1 victory of the Spanish giants in Charlotte.
Rudiger faced himself with Captain of Pachuca Gustavo Cabral in injury, but it was not clear if the alleged abuse came from a player or a person in the crowd.
“This is what Rudiger said, and we believe it,” Alonso told journalists at his post-match press conference. “It is important to have zero tolerance in these kinds of situations. FIFA is investigating now. That’s all I can say.”
FIFA, the organizer of the director world and the tournament, did not comment, but the Ramon Abatti referee had crossed his arms in front of his chest, which signals the activation of the anti-racism protocol.
