The Pacific Russian fleet claims that the joint patrol with China in Asia-Pacific will follow a naval exercise in the Japan Sea.
Russian and Chinese naval ships plan to carry out a joint patrol in the region of Asia-Pacific, after recent Exercises in the Sea of JapanReported the official interfax of Russia.
Citing a statement on Wednesday of the Pacific Russia Fleet Press Service Wednesday, Interfax said that ships from the Russian Navy and the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) “will form a new working group to carry out joint patrol missions in the Asia-Pacific region”.
“After having reconstructed the supplies of logistics ships, the crews of the Russian navy and the Navy will form a new detachment to perform joint patrol tasks in the Asia-Pacific region,” said the news agency.
Russia conducts a series of military exercises with China in response to the accumulation of American military potential in the Asia-Pacific region, said Interfax, citing the chief of staff of Russia, Valery Gerasimov, in 2022.
Moscow and Beijing have already carried out joint air patrols in the Asia-Pacific region since 2019, he added.
The announcement of the joint patrol comes as the two countries conclude five days of joint naval exercises in the Japan Sea which have focused on anti-submarine and air defense missions.
During the last phase of the exercises, the major projects of admiral of the admiral of the ship of Russia and the Corvette Gromby, as well as the Chinese destroyers Shaoxing and Urumqi, carried out live shooting exercises while the crews were practiced and neutralized a simulated enemy submarine, reported Interfax.
The Pacific Fleet of Russia said earlier that the exercises were defensive in nature and had not been directed against other countries.
The reported training of the joint patrol in Asia-Pacific intervenes while modernized China and improves its naval fleet to become a “blue water” force, capable of conducting long-range operations in the world’s oceans, similar to the United States and other Western forces.
Russia and ChinaWho signed a “limited” strategic partnership shortly before the large -scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia in 2022, carry out regular exercises to repeat coordination between their armed forces and send a dissuasive signal to adversaries.
