Jesus loves winners. And 26 years later, we still love Drop Dead Gorgeous.
On the last anniversary of the film to make you really feel the hard, cruel and unfair passage of your youth, we are here to remind you that Drop Dead Gorgeous—The satire of beauty contests with Kirsten Dunst,, Denise Richards,, Kirsty Alley And Ellen Barkin—S came out on July 23, 1999.
The Dark Teen Comedy, written by the former queen of the beauty contest His Williams and produced by Michael Patrick JannIt was as if Miss Congeniality and Heathers had a baby who grew up and crossed a Gothic phase.
And although it has become a classic beloved cult over the years, ridiculously targeted and full of super-cell stars before this one (hi, hi, Amy Adams,, Brittany Murphy And Allison Janney),, Drop Dead Gorgeous was a catastrophe at the box office and a critical punching bag when it was released in the middle of the Rush Gold of the Adolescent Comedy which was in 1999.
And, of course, it was not the most popular, but it was one of the “most intelligent” and it was good about his time.
