Top Seed Sinner Bat Alcaraz 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 in the final to win his first Wimbledon title and fourth Grand Colem.
Wimbledon, United Kingdom – It took Jannik Sinner five weeks to take revenge against Carlos Alcaraz in their successful tennis rivalry and win male singles final at Wimbledon 2025.
The Italian of the seeded overcome the emotional and physical assessment of the loss of the final of the French Open in Alcaraz by defeating Spanish 4-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 at All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club on Sunday.
The sinner turned the tables on the defending champion by overcoming a defeat in the first set – and some early nerves – to win his fourth Grand Salm trophy and the first in the famous central court of SW19.
The double champion Alcaraz started the final with a solid service match, leaping on the nervous start of Sinner during his first appearance in a Wimbledon final. The 22 -year -old continued to break the service of the world number one and concluded the first set in 45 minutes, deployment of a style strategy to serve and stolen to win the crucial points.
The sinner widened deeply in the second set and was back to his ice car while he applied the brakes to Alcaraz’s attempt for three titles with three titles in Wimbledon.
The quality of tennis increased a notch while the 23 -year -old corresponded to Alcaraz to shoot and left the crowd out of breath to all the other points.
The sinner did not waste a lot of time breaking against the title champion by deploying an excellent service game to keep Alcaraz remotely, changing his speed and delivery to ensure that his opponent rushed to each point. He was soon in terms of level.
The third set was by far the highest point of the final, the two players threw each other with each other with a sensational judicial cover, sparkling aces, sublime drop blows and even a “twener”.
It was an end -to -end action to the eighth game, when Alcaraz slipped through the most marked margins but ended up breaking. The sinner did not waste time to bring out his ruthless sequence and finish the chances of Alcaraz in the set.
Led the last two sets to one, the sinner walked on gas in the fourth and made sure that there would be no late return Alcaraz as so memorable occurred in the final of the French Open on June 8.
He broke Alcaraz in the third match, and the stoic Italian showed an overview of the emotion while he was looking at his team in the stands.
The favorite of the Alcaraz crowd had most of the crowd of capacity in the central court behind him, including King Felipe of Spain, but it was not enough to help him stay in the final for another set while Sinner sealed the trophy with a faultless service game.
With joy and disbelief engraved on his face, and with the match now, the sinner raised the two arms with a jerk before squatting on the ground to pat the grass with the other hand, while hiding the emotions on his face.
Not only was he avenging his final defeat of the French Open with a fourth major trophy, but the sinner also moved to a title of the Grand Slam of his great contemporary Alcaraz.
The double champion of the Australian Open became the first man in Italy to win the title of Wimbledon, a feat he described as “A Dream of a Dream”.
“I had never thought of being in this position (to win Wimbledon) by growing up so far from here,” said an unusually emotional sinner in the court after the match.
“I had a very difficult loss in Paris, but I tried to understand what I did with it and I continued to work (hard).”
Sinner has now won Grand Slam titles out of two of the three surfaces and said he was happy to have held his nerve while he was used for the championship in the fourth set. Alcaraz, still the graceful opponent of defeat as in victory, kept his applause to Sinner even after his return to his chair after losing the match. But he said it was a difficult loss.
“I love playing here and I’m going to be back for sure,” the Spaniard told his fans on the central field.
The two players went to a high series of applause after providing another exciting overview in another “golden era” of tennis.
The sinner and Alcaraz have won the seven Grand Slam finals since the beginning of 2024, and it will only be a question of eight weeks until tennis fans can hope to see the next episode of their flourishing rivalry during the last Grand Slam of the year, the US Open.
