Micromobility at an early stage has moved in recent years. The cowboy buffoonery of online scooter companies causing chaos as part of a ladder offer have disappeared with large venture capital checks which are now taking place towards AI startups.
Stricter capital combined with an existential need to create sustainable commercial models has produced a new generation of micromobility startups.
This week, I attended European micromobility in BrusselsWhere I visited the so-called “start-up arena” of the conference to get an idea of what the micromobility ecosystem at the start of Europe brought to the table. Many companies I have spoken try to fill the gaps in this industry – whether through fleet, parking or load management software. Some, however, only build the vehicles they wanted to drive.
All represent the next phase of the constantly evolving micromobility industry.
