Beijing should see its heaviest precipitation Tuesday, with up to 300 mm (11.8 inches) provided for certain areas.
At least 30 people were killed by serious precipitation and floods in Beijing while the heavy rains dip the Chinese capital, report the state’s media.
Deaths occurred in the Northern Mountain districts of Beijing, with 28 killed in Miyun and two in Yanqing, the official press agency of Xinhua reported on Tuesday.
“The last series of heavy rain storms left 30 dead in Beijing at midnight on Monday,” Xinhua said the headquarters of the city’s municipal flood control.
Torrential rain started this weekend and intensified in the Chinese capital and the surrounding provinces on Monday, with Beijing recording precipitation up to 543 mm (21.3 inches) in its northern districts, Xinhua said.
The Beijing authorities have moved more than 80,000 residents of the regions most struck by floods, which damaged dozens of roads and reduces power to at least 136 villages, reported the national diffuser of the CCTV country.

The authorities ordered the release of water from a reservoir in the rural district of Miyun de Beijing, which was at its highest level since its construction in 1959, according to reports, the inhabitants being warned to stay away from the rivers downstream as their levels increased and more heavy rains are provided.
Chinese President Xi Jinping late Monday evening ordered the “rescue” research and rescue efforts to minimize the victims, while the authorities ordered people to stay inside, close schools, suspend construction work and end tourism outdoors and other activities until the emergency warning is lifted.
In the city of Taishitun, about 100 km (60 miles) northeast of the Beijing Center, the streets were covered with mud and water on Monday, and the uprooted trees lay in heaps with their naked roots, reports the associated press agency.
“The deluge entered inside, just like that, so quickly and suddenly. In no time, the place was filling up,” said Zhuang Zhelin, a local resident, who cleaned the mud with his family from their building materials store.
Previous reports said on Monday that torrential rains and floods had killed four people, with eight other disappeared persons, following a landslide in the province of the Hebei country, located south of Beijing.
