Former Bangladesh’s former international cricket captain (ODI), Tamim Iqbal was transported to hospital after undergoing a heart attack on the field in a national match.

Tamim, 36, headed the Mohammedan sports club in a Dacca Premier League match (DPL) 50 around 50.

He participated in the draw but then complained of chest pain. After initial treatment on the ground, he was transported to a neighboring hospital.

“He has undergone a heart attack. What I know so far is that his heart has started to work better,” said Debashis Chowdhury, doctor of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) at the AFP news agency.

The Islam tarirt, a team official, told AFP that Tamim was treated in a hospital in Savar on the outskirts of Dacca and urged people to pray for its rapid recovery.

The BCB canceled its meeting of the board of directors scheduled for the day after the sudden Tamim disease, with several members of the board of directors going to the hospital to visit it.

Tamim represented the Bangladesh in 391 games between the formats between 2007 and 2023.

He has more than 15,000 international races to his credit and is the only Bangladais drummer to mark centuries in the three international formats.
