Teofimo Lopez declares himself “ Face following Latinos ” after Canelo Alvarez

Teofimo Lopez says he can’t wait to become “the next face of the Latinos” once Canelo Alvarez is withdrawing from boxing. Lopez (21-1, 13 KB) thinks he has the talent to take over from Canelo as “the face” once he left sport.

Canelo should continue to fight for three years, but he is part of a semi-retirement tour. Teofimo can take over like the face of the Latinos because Alvarez plays safely, avoiding sharks at 168 and 175.

Latin heritage

Teo is ready to take risks and give Fand the fights they want to see. This is how you become the face of boxing. Gervonta Davis and Canelo dropped the ball in this regard.

WBO Light Teofimo Welter weight champion will have to raise his game to become the next star with Latinos. He seemed marginal in four of his five fights at 140 and was lucky with the judgment of not having two additional defeats.

Lopez defends his WBO belt against his compulsory Arnold Barboza Jr. (32-0, 11 KB) in a fight on May 2 in Times Square in New York. Many boxing fans choose Barboza Jr. to win this fight because he has a hot hand at the moment, beating Jose Ramirez and Jack Catterall in his last two fights.

If Teofimo wins this fight, he could challenge the IBF Welter weight champion, Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis in October. It is a fight that could jump Teo in first place if it beats Ennis.

“Place me as the oppressed because of the business point of view, I am the oppressed with regard to the issues and everything, no, I am not,” Teofimo Lopez told Shawn Porter’s YouTube Channel, speaking of his fight against Arnold Barboza Jr. on May 2.

Lopez is one of those types that works better when neglected in a fight. This is not a good advantage when he should do well, as we saw in his fights against Jamaine Ortiz, Sandor Martin and George Kambosos Jr.

“Next face”

“I feel like I am the next face for the Latinos after Canelo Alvarez, even if Canelo is hopeful for the Mexicans, I’m sorry to say that God chose me.

“I dream of Big.
