The American army indicates a vehicle of four missing soldiers found in Lithuania | Soldiers

The Lithuania army said four American soldiers and a sailing vehicle had disappeared on Tuesday afternoon.

The American army said that a vehicle used by four soldiers who have disappeared in Lithuania had been found overwhelmed in the water while the research efforts for missing troops continue.

In a statement on Wednesday, the army said that “the armored vehicle Hercules M88 the four missing American soldiers operated during a training exercise were located in Lithuania”.

The army comments come after after the secretary general of NATO, Mark Rutte, said at a press conference in Warsaw, Poland, that the four soldiers died in an “incident”.

“This is still a news, so we don’t know the details. It’s really terrible and our thoughts are with families and loved ones,” said Rutte.

The army of Lithuania had declared earlier than a search was underway for the four American soldiers and a sailing vehicle that had disappeared on Tuesday afternoon.

The army wrote on X later that it pursued an “intensive” rescue operation without confirming the death of the American staff.

According to a statement from the American army, the soldiers trained near Pabrade in eastern Lithuania near the border with the Bélarus.

“The soldiers, all of the 1st brigade, 3rd infantry division, carried out a tactical training planned at the time of the incident,” the statement said.
