The deliberations of the jury begin in the racket and the trial of the sexual traffic of Diddy

Today, 12 everyday New Yorkers were responsible for a pivotal decision: decide the legal fate of Diddy.

American district judge Arun Subramanian I spent more than two hours going through jurors through the five criminal counts at the heart of the case, detailing the accusations and teacher the panel on the finest points of the federal law. It is a process officially known as “invoice the jury”.

The eight men and four women returned just before 5 p.m. with two notes – a question about the government’s drug distribution allegation against Diddy and a warning that they planned to break for the day at 5 p.m.

The jury appeared engaged with the long Subramanian instructions. Several jurors followed their paper copies, underlying the key parties and taking notes – in particular during the judge’s explanations on reasonable doubt and credibility of witnesses.

The jurors received a three -page verdict listing each of the five counts, with spaces to mark if Diddy is guilty or not guilty. (In the case of eight allegations underlying the accusation of racketeering, the jurors must put back if they have been “proven” or “unproven” that it was involved in crimes such as kidnapping, criminal fire, corruption and forced work.)

In other news: Diddy was all smiles entering the courtroom this morning. He has embraced defense lawyers Marc Agnifilo, Brian Steel And Alexandra Shapiro. He made a gesture of prayer and put his hand on his heart as he looked at his family sitting in the gallery.

Diddy sat down later with his folded hands while Subramanian detailed the five counts and explained the individual elements of the Racket charge. He occasionally looked around and towards the jury box.

When the jurors left the courtroom to start deliberate, Diddy headed for his family. They served their hands and tied their heads into prayer. Diddy later held two books for journalists and public members to see: Norman Vincent Peale“The power of positive thought” and Shawn Achor“The advantage of happiness”.
