A 47 -year -old Colorado woman was charged after her mother in dementia was mutilated by dogs who, according to the authorities, lived in “insanitary conditions”.
Jessica Hoff has been accused of criminal negligence leading to death with 54 aggravated cruelty charges on animals, said the Sheriff of Pueblo Sheriff. Friday, Hoff’s arrest stems from a call that the Sheriff’s office received on February 3 with a report from an unconscious woman.
The deputies arrived at the residence and found Lavonne Hoff, 76, unanswered, said the sheriff’s office. There were several dogs who “released inside the house and two dozen people were found at the residence.
The 76 -year -old woman was declared dead at home.
An investigation revealed that Lavonne Hoff was left alone while her daughter was shopping, despite 24 hours a day for her dementia. Meanwhile, she was attacked by dogs inside the house, said the sheriff’s office.
His cause of death was attributed to a dog attack at an autopsy, according to the sheriff’s office.
“The detectives have executed a search warrant on the house and a second property that Jessica Hoff had in the city of Colorado and located a total of 54 dogs and the seven birds in its possession,” said the sheriff’s office. “Dogs and birds were found alive in unsanitary conditions and several of the dogs were in poor health.”
The judicial archives do not list a lawyer for Jessica Hoff, who should appear in court on Thursday. County detainees’ files show that it is in detention on Monday morning.
