The Elgato flow bridge extends beyond the company’s equipment

THE Elgato flow bridge transforms into a material-enactric platform. On Monday, the company unveiled a software version of the programmable shortcut device. Integration modules into third -party products and DIY projects are also underway, an Ethernet reception station and an MK.2 deck of updated flow bridge with scissor switching keys.

There is a new version of the Popular Stream Deck MK.2. The only difference is that this version abandons the membrane keys in favor of those of the scissors. Scissors (found on many laptops, such as Modern MacBooks) Have a shorter travel distance and a clear action than those of the inheritance madness (always available) MK.2.

The Stream Deck MK.2 Scissor Keys costs $ 150. Expeditions start towards the beginning of June.

Virtual flow bridge

Virtual Stream Deck (VSD) is a software counterpart only of conventional devices. Like the material versions, the VSD includes a familiar grid of programmable shortcut buttons. Everything you would configure for a device like the Stream Deck MK.2 Or XL, you can also do for the VSD. Place the interface anywhere on your desk, pin it for quick access or trigger it with a mouse click or a header.

Presumably to avoid cannibalizing its material activity, Elgato limits the VSD to the owners of its devices. Initially, it will only be available for people with flow bridge equipment or select the Corsair devices (the Xenon edge and Scimitar Elite We smiled). The company claims that the VSD will soon be deployed to the owners of additional devices.

The VSD has a frustrating requirement. This only works when one of these compatible accessories is connected to your computer. Unfortunately, this means that you cannot use it as a virtual flow bridge replacement, reflecting your shortcuts while you and your laptop are on the go. It seems to be a missed opportunity.

Instead, it looks more like a supplement to diffuse bridge equipment while it is connected – a way to obtain more shortcuts than accessory supports. This is also a method for owners of Corsair accessories to obtain flow bridge features without buying one.

Anyway, Virtual Stream Deck is starting with the beta software from DECK 7.0 Stream.

Stream bridge modules

The rivers bridge modules can be integrated into the equipment not manufactured by Elgato. Thus, amateurs, startups and manufacturers can integrate OLED shortcut buttons into their DIY projects or products. The only difference is their more flexible nature. Otherwise, they work in the same way as Legacy Stream Deck products.

The bridge modules of the rivers have an aluminum frame which is “ready to fall directly into a support, a machine or a personalized product”. They are available in variants of six, 15 and 32 keys.

The modules are starting to ship today. You will pay $ 50 for the six -key version, $ 130 for the $ 15 and $ 200 for the 32 -key variant. (If you provide them for an organization, Elgato offers volume discounts.)

Elgato network quay

The Elgato network quay gives the flow of flow appliances their own Ethernet connections. This disasks the shortcuts of the office, allowing “personalized installations, remote stations and more”.

The network reception station supports both Ethernet power (POE) and non-poe networks. You can configure its IP configuration available.

The platform costs $ 80 and is shipped in August.
