Rapper Fat Joe is accused of having forced his former media man to engage in thousands of sexual acts with women in a federal civil trial of $ 20 million who also alleges that he was underpaid, refused the writing credits of songs and threatened.
Terrance “TA” Dixon filed the complaint Thursday before the American district court in the South New York District against the rappermembers of its inner circle and the Roc nation.
A lawyer for Fat Joe, whose real name is Joseph Antonio Cartagena, said that allegations are “full manufacturing” intended to damage the rapper’s reputation.
The trial indicates that Dixon was the rapper’s media man, or artist on stage, but also contributed as a lyricist, a background singer, bodyguard and “creative collaborator” around 2005 to 2022.
This alleges that Dixon is the author or co-written dozens of songs, including “Congratulations”, “Ice Cream”, “No problem” and “Black Out”.
“The applicant contributed words, melodies, a vocal phrasing and a conceptual design to these works – considerably shaping their final form as distributed to the public,” said the costume.
Dixon was underpaid, denied writing credits of songs and deliberately hidden on fees and Backend compensation, according to the trial.
Cartagena checked Dixon by psychological manipulation, intimidation and persistent threats, the trial indicates.
He alleged that the Roc Nation knew or should have known the rapper’s behavior but has taken no measure. Roc Nation, who is appointed defendant, did not immediately respond to a request for comments on Friday.
The 157 -page document, which is delivered with a “trigger warning” at the top, also details the allegations of sexual abuse.
This alleys that Cartagena has regularly brought women back to her hotel rooms and forced Dixon to engage in sexual acts with them, sometimes in front of the members of the rapper’s inner circle. According to the costume, Cartagena “frequently organized and orchestrated these meetings, intentionally creating scenarios designed to strengthen the complete submission of the applicant.”
He accuses Cartagena of staying in the room to watch, record and “provide a direction and explicit orders”.
Dixon did not want to participate in the acts, indicates the trial, but did it “for fear of immediate reprisals”. During an alleged incident, Dixon refused and Cartagena canceled his return flight, leaving Dixon blocked without money, said the trial.
Dixon said that over a period of 16 years, he estimated that he was “forced by more than 4,000 sexual acts to maintain his position within the company”.
The trial also alleges that Dixon has personally seen Cartagena engaging in sexual relations with girls aged 15 and 16.
Cartagena’s lawyer Joseph Tacopina said that the trial of Dixon is an “blatant act of reprisals” and a “desperate attempt to divert attention” from a civil trial that the rapper filed in April accusing Dixon and his lawyer, Tyrone Blackburn, extortion, slander and defamation.
This Cartagena trial says that things ended amicably with Dixon in 2019 and it was only years later that Dixon alleged that he had been underpaid when he worked with the rapper.
The costume indicates that Cartagena has compensated Dixon “generously” for having helped him on tour and denies the allegations of Dixon according to which the rapper had sex with minors. He still accuses Dixon and Blackburn of having tried to extort Cartagena for money.
“We did not just prosecute a former employee dissatisfied to rekindle a false complaint 15 years ago – we continued the lawyer behind all of this,” Tacopina said in a statement.
“The allegations against Mr. Carthagène are complete manufacturing-lies intended to harm his reputation and to force a colony by public pressure. Mr. Carthagène will not be intimidated,” he said. “We have brought legal action to exhibit this fraudulent campaign and keep all those involved in charge.”
In response, Blackburn said on Friday that Cartagena “was desperate and grabbed the straws.”
“We have met the police, let’s wait to see who they believe,” he said.
The trial indicates that Dixon has undergone serious emotional injuries, including chronic anxiety, fear and debilitating symptoms compatible with the SSPT. It remains in trauma therapy, indicates the costume.
