The funeral of the woman of Georgia who was died in the brain but kept alive by the fans due to the law on the abortion of the state took place on Saturday in a suburbs of Atlanta, The subsidiary of NBC News Wxia of Atlanta reported.
The funeral took place at the Baptiste de Fairfield church in Lithonia, Wxia reported, and attracted a crowd which included a number of Smith nursing colleagues and other public members.
Adriana Smith, who was 31 years old in June, was Declared the brain to death in February After a computed tomography found several blood clots in his brain, his mother, April Newkirk, said to Wxia earlier this year.
She was nine weeks pregnant when her boyfriend precipitated her in hospital after waking up to find her to get down and do what he described as gargling noises, Newkirk told Wxia.
Due to the strict law on the abortion of Georgia – known as Life Act, which makes illegal abortion after six weeks of pregnancy – Smith was kept alive until her child could be born and survive alone, according to Wxia.
THE baby was born prematurely June 13, weighing 1 book, 13 ounces, Newkirk told Wxia at the time.
Wxia reported on Saturday that Smith had been withdrawn from days of survival a few days after the birth of her son, luck. The baby is still in the neonatal intensive care unit.
“It should be ok,” Newkirk said at the station earlier this month. “He just fights.”
Smith also has a eldest son, Chase.
Smith’s funeral on Saturday, his family, friends, community and peers who wanted to honor his life.
The Honorary Guard of the Metropolitan Nurses of Atlanta paid tribute to relieve Smith from her nursing duties, Wxia reported, and many of those who attended the funeral wore white roses.
“I am grateful for everything she taught me – her love, her kindness, her wisdom,” said Smith’s younger sister Naya, according to Wxia. “The family meant everything for her. So I hope I can follow her traces.”
