The NBA star James Harden accused negligence in the sexual assault trial against her nephew

The star player of the Clippers, James Harden, was accused of negligence in a trial which claims that a woman was raped by her nephew when she was unconscious after a New Year’s Day in her Texas House last year.

The nephew of Harden, judge Armani Blackburn, is accused of sexual assault against Marisa Watley, 40, in a civilian complaint Placed Monday in Texas by the law firm Wigdor and the Cochereil Ellwanger Henderson.

The trial alleys that the security agents hired by Harden could have prevented the alleged rape and that it is “by proxy of the actions of his guards and their employer”. He appoints Harden, Blackburn and an unknown number of unidentified security guards as defendants, listed as “security guards 1 to 10” and their unidentified employer.

Watley requests more than $ 100,000 in damages and wishes a trial with jury.

Representatives of Harden and Blackburn have been contacted for comments. None of the two publicly responded to allegations.

“The plaintiff Marisa Watley was brutally raped by the defendant Judge Armani Blackburn following part of the New Year at the Maison du Manoir of the defendant James Harden,” said the complaint.

According to the trial, tabled in the district of the Harris County district clerk, Watley’s friends would have declared to the security team that she seemed to disappear in the house and that the guards knew that women had been evacuated from intoxication throughout the house.

“Nevertheless, Mr. Harden’s security team failed to protect Ms. Watley on the property of Mr. Harden – and the result was a sexual assault from which she will suffer indefinitely,” said the trial.

Watley, a real estate agent, said in a statement: “Since the day of the New Year, when I pointed out Mr. Blackburn’s rape to the police, I remained perplexed by the way in which Mr. Harden’s security behaved that day – it is painful to imagine that all of this could have been stopped in time. I hope this complaint will push security employees to act generally when women are in danger.”

The complaint says that she is speaking now with a big stutter due to the “serious trauma” of alleged rape.

The trial indicates that Watley and two friends met in a New Year’s evening restaurant before going to a party in a neighboring club. Around 3:30 am, they would have seen Harden in a VIP zone and learned a party at home.

The three women took an Uber to his house – the complaint says that Watley thought they were going to a friend’s apartment – where an armed security guard checked their identity documents and told them to go to the inside recording studio, the trial said.

There, said the trial, Blackburn gave the three women a glass that made them evolve. The trial says that Watley’s memory from this point “becomes extremely misty” while it was in and out of conscience.

“The next thing Mrs. Watley remembers is to be shocked by the conscience while lying against the ground on a bed with a man behind her having aggressive sex with her,” said the trial.

Watley alleges that after that, a security guard told him to leave. The trial indicates that his two friends had already been invited to leave and were locked up despite the security agents that their friend and some goods were still inside.

The trial indicates that they would have said that no woman was in the house, but friends quickly saw more women go.

The two friends of Watley had his iPhone and were able to contact his sister thanks to his emergency contacts at 10:44 am, who then called the police. The trial alleys that it was only after 1:29 p.m. that Watley emerged.

His lawyers, Michael J. Willemin and John S. Crain by Wigdor, and Jay Ellwanger and Kaylyn Betts by Ellwanger Henderson, said in a joint statement Watley showed “great strength and courage” in the declaration of allegations.

“This rape was immediately reported to the police, and we will translate justice Mr. Blackburn and Mr. Harden through the civil justice system,” they said.
