The new Kennedy vaccine panel lacks experience and should not meet, says Senator Cassidy

Senator Bill Cassidy, R-La., Criticized the choices of the secretary of health and social services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Monday on Monday on Monday on Monday for a federal federal vaccination consulting committee and asked that the next group meeting is delayed until more members with relevant expertise can be appointed.

Kennedy Suddenly licensed The 17 members of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Advisory Committee on vaccination practices this month and replaced them by Eight new membersincluding skeptics of known vaccines. This group should meet for the first time on Wednesday and Thursday.

Cassidy, a doctor who is chairman of the health, education, labor and pensions committee, was a key vote in Kennedy’s confirmation. He said that he had voted for Kennedy after Kennedy had made a number of commitments, in particular not to make changes to the ACIP, a very influential panel which makes vaccination recommendations and shapes the vaccination calendar on childhood.

Cassidy expressed his concerns Monday on X on newly appointed members.

“Although people named to the AICPI have scientific references, many have no significant experience in the study of microbiology, epidemiology or immunology. “Wednesday’s meeting should not carry out a relatively small panel, and no director of the CDC in place to approve the committee’s recommendations.

Susan Monarerez, the choice of President Donald Trump for the director of the CDC, will have his confirmation audience of the Senate on Wednesday. Without director of the CDC, Kennedy has signed certain recommendations of the ACIP. And last month, without contribution from the ACIP, he announced that the The cocovated vaccine would no longer be recommended for healthy children and pregnant women.

The Ministry of Health and Social Services, which oversees the CDC, did not immediately respond to a request for comments. HHS spokesperson Andrew Nixon previously defended Kennedy’s Aipic Choices, saying in a statement that the new panel “includes very accredited scientists, leading public health experts and some of the most accomplished doctors in the United States. All these people are involved in medicine based on evidence, gold and common sense sciences. ”

A Agenda project For the ACIP meeting of this week includes a Discussion and a vote on influenza vaccines containing thimérosalA form of mercury that had been used as a preservative in certain vaccines. Kennedy has long married the Demystified complaint that there is a link between Thimérosal and Autism.

Since 2001, almost all vaccines made in the United States have not contained Thimérosal amounts or only traces. Only multidose flu vaccine bottles always contain the curator. Most influenza vaccines are now available in packaging at a time.
