The lawyers of a third denunciator with allegations against Emil Bove met the staff of the President of the Senate Judicial Committee, Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, yesterday, lawyers providing a summary of their client’s complaint, but not underlying documents, Grassley’s office said in NBC News.
The denunciator approached Senator Cory Booker, DN.J., and his staff with the complaint, who is not linked to the allegations presented by the first two denominators, a familiar source with the case said. The denunciator shared the documentation on a different prosecution at the Ministry of Justice, and although the details of the allegations are not public, the source said that they contradict the testimony of Bove during his confirmation hearing before the judicial committee.
Trump named Bove at the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeal. His confirmation vote of the Senate could occur today. Grassley, when asked if the three denunciators would delay Bove’s confirmation vote, told NBC News: “No.”
The Grassley office said that neither the best democrat of the Committee, the Senator of Illinois, Dick Durbin, nor Booker shared the disclosure of denunciation or any underlying proof, and that Grassley staff were returned by Durbin staff to the denunciator’s lawyers when they asked for additional information.
The existence of a third denunciator with new allegations was reported for the first time by the Washington Post.
The Grassley office said that he had been informed of the reports of a third denunciator on Friday and that he contacted Justice Connection, who represents the denunciator, to request a meeting with their client and examine the relevant evidence. The Grassley office said they made themselves available to meet this weekend, but that the meeting was only organized.
A Durbin spokesman said that the denunciator had expressed a preference to engage directly with the Republicans, adding in a statement: “Another denunciator presented evidence that lifts serious concerns with Emil Bove’s misconduct.
