The White House adopts a different approach on the Jeffrey Epstein affair. The family and friends of murdered students from the Idaho University are raging against Bryan Kohberger. And how “Les Osbournes” changed television forever.
Here’s what you need to know today.
If the Trump administration thought that the tumult on Jeffrey Epstein’s files would pass, it was wrong.
The Chamber’s Supervisory Committee Voted yesterday to assign the Ministry of Justice To publish files related to the case, three Republicans joining the Democrats to vote on the issue. Earlier in the day, the chairman of the chamber’s surveillance committee, James Comer, assigned the Epstein co-conspirator, Ghislaine Maxwell, for a deposition on August 11 at the Federal Correctional Establishment of Florida, where she serves a 20-year sentence.

And in Florida, a federal judge refused the request of the Ministry of Justice To publish federal transcriptions of the Grand Jury of 2005 and 2007 as part of an Epstein survey. The decision is separate from a request for the Ministry of Justice linked to a large jury in the South New York district, where Epstein was finally charged.
All this occurs weeks after the Ministry of Justice said in a memo that he would not publish files detailing the Federal Government’s investigation into Epstein, causing an outcry, including the Maga de Trump base. The financier, who died by suicide in a New York prison in 2019, has been the subject of right -wing conspiracy theories for years.
Trump and his republican allies sought to distract the fire storm by blaming the Democrats and evoking old quarrels. But Trump, who is used to leading the news, discovers that there are limits to his ability to detach himself from the question. “In the past, the (White House) could expect that certain interviewers are friendly and remain on the script; it is not guaranteed with it,” said a republican agent familiar with the white house’s thought.
Thus, the White House adopts a more limited approach when it comes to talking about the Epstein affair. Trump reported that he did not want members of his administration to discuss the issue, said a person close to the White House. And the aid of the White House clearly indicated that no one in the administration is authorized to speak of Epstein without high level verification, according to a senior official.
This is a break in the usual crisis communication model of Trump, which emphasizes an all -hand approach on the bridge to defend it on television and social media.
The National Intelligence Director, Tulsi Gabbard, accumulated the allegations against former President Barack Obama yesterday, saying that there were “irrefutable evidence” that he and his national security team made a “false intelligence analysis to show that Russia helped Donald Trump to win the 2016 elections.
Gabbard also announced to the White House briefing that she had declared a five -year report from the Republicans in the House Intelligence Committee about the 2016 elections, which challenged the conclusions that Russian President Vladimir Putin “aspired” to help Trump to win. The report is in conflict with a bipartite Senate report of the same year which approved an assessment of the intelligence agencies according to which Russia has spread online disinformation and has undermined Hillary Clinton’s candidacy to strengthen Trump’s prospects. This report was reported by all members of the senatorial intelligence committee, including the current Secretary of State of Trump, Marco Rubio.
This is the first time that an American spy chief has classified allegations against a former president or administration, and the Democrats have rejected this decision as an attempt to distract Jeffrey Epstein’s scandal. Meanwhile, Obama and former civil servants of his administration qualified the allegations of baseless Gabbard.
A judge sentenced Bryan Kohberger to life prison without possibility of parole in the murders of four students from the Idaho University – Ethan Chapin, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Madison Mogen – whose massacres 2022 beat the city of Moscow. More specifically, Kohberger received four consecutive perpetuity sentences, as well as 10 years for a burglary chief.
The sentence was a wide -awaited part of the advocacy agreement in which Kohberger pleaded guilty to murders in exchange not to be tried and to avoid a potential death sentence.
Kohberger did not speak to yesterday’s hearing – but relatives of the victims made speeches on blisters and emotionally raw:
→ The older sister of Goncalves, Alivea Goncalves, described Kohberger as “sociopath, psychopath, murderer” and said to him: “The only thing you have failed more miserably than being a murderer is to try to be a rapper.”
→ Kernodle’s stepfather, Randy Davis, said at the end of his speech: “Go to hell”, how applause broke out in the courtroom.
→ The surviving roommate Dylan Mortensen described Kohberger as “a hollow container, something less than human, a body without empathy, without remorse”.
→ The only speech on forgiveness came from the aunt of Kernodle, who said that she had chosen to forgive Kohberger “because I could no longer live with this hatred in my heart.”
When the Cleveland Clinic began to acquire hospitals and medical offices along Florida Treast Coast six years ago, many residents were excited. Non -profit Ohio, classified among the best hospitals in the world, has committed to providing expert care and a silver infusion in the region north of Boca Raton.
But in the years following the blue and green panels of the Cleveland Clinic, which arose apart from the dozens of medical offices, the patients began to receive unexpected invoices, of an additional $ 95 for a consultation with a neurosurgeon, at $ 174 more for a meeting of neurologist who previously cost $ 50.
Deconal patients have learned that new costs were “installation costs” – the accusations that hospitals have traditionally billed in hospital patients and emergency visits, but are now inviting more and more routine meetings in their ambulatory clinics. The costs are intended to support the higher level of care provided by these doctors’ firms, according to hospitals.
The Cleveland Clinic is far from being the only charge costs, which have become omnipresent in recent years, because the main health systems have taken doctors’ offices, which makes patients more difficult for patients to find independent practices. For some patients who spoke to NBC News, the costs were just a discomfort. For others, bills were too important a financial burden to support.
The way you first realized Ozzy Osbourne can depend on your age. Many knew him first as the Prince of Darkness, a pioneer of Heavy Metal as the leader of Black Sabbath. But if you were a teenager stuck to MTV in 2002, you knew him as the sweet and clumsy father at the center of a family of chaotic and charming celebrities in “The Osbournes”. When the news announced that Ozzy died this week at 76, social media flooded images of his theatrical performances, as well as clips of him shamelessly amazing him the assembly of a Burrito Chipotle.
“Les Osbournes”, the first reality show Celebrity to focus on a family, was an instant success and paved the way for a multitude of shows to follow. The former leaders of MTV and criticism of culture spoke to the contributor Ashley Lee About the impact of the show on pop culture In just three years. – Michelle Garcia, NBC BLK editorial director
