The wife of the suspect accused in the Minnesota legislator shots spoke for the first time Thursday, calling for his actions which left two dead and two other injured “a betrayal”.

The shooting at Hortman’s house in Brooklyn Park killed the legislator and her husband, Mark. About 90 minutes, the authorities say that Hortman and his wife, Yvette, were injured in their house in Champlin. Boelter was arrested as part of the attacks in a green island field two days later, after the officials called the greatest manhunt in the history of Minnesota.
In a statement published by her lawyers, Jenny Boelter said that she and her children wanted to express their “deeper sympathies” to Hortman and Hoffman families and “all those in mourning during this unimaginably difficult period”.
“We are absolutely shocked, with a broken and completely blind heart,” said Jenny Boelter. “This violence does not align itself at all with our beliefs as a family. It is a betrayal of everything we hold as the principles of our Christian faith. We are dismayed and horrified by what happened, and our hearts are incredibly heavy for the victims of the unfathomable tragedy.”
Boelter’s wife added that her family “completely cooperated with the investigators and responded to each request” from the moment they were contacted for the first time by the police on the morning of June 14. After the call, she said that she had “immediately led to meet agents in a nearby service station”.
“We were not arrested; we have parked and waited for their arrival,” Jenny Boelter said in the press release, adding that their cooperation has since included articles and research. “We are grateful for the diligent and professional efforts of the authorities to fully investigate these crimes. We thank the police for having apprehended Vance and protecting others against additional damage.”
The declaration has been the first time that Boelter’s wife has been presented since he was arrested as part of what officials have described as “Shoting “politically motivated.
