Tiktok adds the management of the ALT text for the photos

Tiktok deploys ALT text support for photo publications to make the content more accessible for users with visual and cognitive impairments. Creators can now provide descriptive text for photos to help users with screen players to understand visual content through spoken descriptions.

Tiktok told Techcrunch in an email that creators can add alt text during the download process, or after the publication of a message.

With this launch, Tiktok joins many other social networks that support the ALT text, including Instagram, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Reddit, Mastodon, Tumblr, etc.

Alt Text joins the existing suite of accessibility tools of Tiktok, which includes features such as the legends generated automatically for video content and the possibility of adjusting text size on the application.
