Tinder now allows you to go to two dates

Tinder is no longer just a platform for solo dates. The company has announced a new “double date” feature in the United States which will allow you to invite a friend to find – and to match – another pair.

The functionality lives in a new “double date” icon in the upper right corner of the application, where you can invite up to three friends to create pairs. You can both scroll a diet of paired profiles, which appear side by side with photos and descriptions. A match is created when a person of the two pairs slides to the right. Tinder will then open a group conversation with the four users.

The update should help Tinder get an advantage over rivals as a meeting place continue to feel a crisis. It will also allow Tinder to compete directly with platforms designed for double dates, such as Doubble and Fourplay.

Tinder plans to deploy double dates worldwide in July.
