President Donald Trump Sunday, will attend the FIFA Club World Cup finalA match that will offer Trump an overview of the first globe football tournament that North America will organize next year.
Trump and First Lady Melania Trump will go from their golf club to Bedminster, New Jersey, East Rutherford 40 miles away to watch the last match of the tournament hosted by the United States between Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea at Metlife Stadium.
Trump’s trip Sunday falls into the first anniversary of the assassination attempt he survived in Butler, Pennsylvania, while campaigning for the president.
The president had no public projects to mark the date beyond the participation in an interview with Fox News Channel with his daughter-in-law Lara Trump who broadcast on Saturday evening.
Sports events have formed most of Trump’s trips to the United States since their entry into office this year. In addition to his visit this weekend at the football tournament, he attended The Super Bowl In New Orleans, the Daytona 500 in Florida, the UFC fights in Miami and Newark, New Jersey and the NCAA Championships in Philadelphia.
The president, who has a warm relationship with the president of FIFA, Gianni Infantino, said that he was planning to attend several games of the World Cup tournament next year.
