Trump’s decree offers a relief of sanctions on Monday to “essential entities for the development of Syria, the functioning of its government and the reconstruction of the country’s social fabric,” the US Treasury said in a statement.
The Syrian government has undergone heavy American financial sanctions prior to the civil war epidemic in the country in 2011.

While the US Treasury said it has already deleted 518 Syrian individuals and entities from its list of sanctions, certain sanctions in Syria may not be dismissed immediately.

As part of Trump’s order, the American president ordered the Secretary of State Marco Rubio to review the appointment of the Syrian President Ahmed Al-Sharaa as a “specially designated global terrorist”.
In addition, the American president ordered an examination of the status of the Al-Sharaa group, Al-Nura Front-now Hayat Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS)-as an “foreign terrorist” organization designated. Al-Nura was the Al-Qaeda branch in Syria, but Al-Sharaa Cut links With the group in 2016.
