Tyson Fury is retired but remains “very bitter” to the decision of his last fight.
After losing its WBC title in the undisputed championship conflict last year with Oleksandr Usyk, Fury was also beaten in their December revenge match by unanimous decision.
He opposed a goal after the fight and even if he retired at the start of this year, Fury is still not in peace with the decision.
WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman said Sky Sports: “I call him regularly and he said:” Oh, I’m so happy, retired, I’m here with my wife. “He did not suggest that he planned to return.
“He told me that he was not satisfied with the decision in the second fight with the Usyk. He is always very bitter about the scoring of the judges and he was very upset but he was withdrawn, that is what he said.”
Sulaiman, however, added: “Maybe in the godfather, the film, maybe we will hear it say:” Just when I thought I was released, they bring me back! “We don’t know …”
There are members of the Fury family who make their own steps in sport. The amateur boxer James Dean Fury impressed during the recent Cup Manchester Box, while Walter Fury, the cousin of Tyson, is a professional perspective.
Walter Fury will have its fourth pro fight of July 11 in Liverpool. His father, Hughie Fury, who died in 2014, previously trained Tyson Fury. Walter Fury was still going to join the family business and become a boxer.
“To be a young boy, because I started boxing over 11 years, it was always a dream I wanted,” he said Sky Sports.
“It took me a little to come back after losing my father. But after that, that was all. I just made my head, I sorted myself like you and I got back in this.
“The only thing I can do now is to make it proud and that’s what I intend to do and not only that, I intend to go as far as possible in sport.
“I have too much talent to throw away.”
However, he will not try to fill Tyson Fury’s shoes. “The only thing I want to be is myself and that’s what I intend to be,” he said.
“Many people think there is a lot of pressure but for me, there is no pressure. Because the only thing I have to do is do my best.”
He thinks that the absence of his cousin is at the expense of sport, even if it is for the good of Tyson Fury.
“Boxing is dead without him because he is a great artist, isn’t it? Many people connect from all over the world to see Tyson because he is the best accumulation of a fight that I have never seen and not only that, he is also a first class boxer who puts in a show with each fight he has,” he said.
“But the thing is the minute when he doesn’t box and I think it’s the best thing for him now. I think he has done everything he needs to do in boxing.
“What can you do more if you’ve already fought for everything and have won everything? It’s good enough.”
At different stages of his career, Fury has held each major championship belt, even if he never disputed.
“He may have been beaten USYK but listens, I think he is the closest man to beat Ushk, there is nothing wrong with that,” said Walter Fury.
“We cannot be more proud of Tyson for what he has done in sport. He fought the best. Where he comes from where he finished is incredible.
“(He should) enjoy his life, instead of putting himself in danger in each fight.”
