The Premier League 2025-26 season is almost on our doors and there are so many intrigue that the teams are looking to fill the gap with the champions in title Liverpool and finish in the places of the Champions League.
With a record number of teams in European competitions, the force of the Premier League is perhaps at its peak, and the promoted teams all seem strong and prepared for the nine-month glove which awaits from August to May.
Let’s take a look at key scenarios before the new season.
After spending big for four new key signatures this summer (and perhaps added to striker Alexander Isak in the coming weeks for British record costs of more than $ 150 million), the title champions of the Premier League Liverpool were not immobile. But their expensive reconstruction has shown signs of early growth pain.
The German playmaker Florian Wirtz is a generational talent and looks like a good deal, even for $ 133 million. The striker Hugo Ekitike is always raw but will mark a lot. The new full backs full Milos Kerkeez and Jeremie Frimpong are exciting and energetic. However, the balance was shifted in pre-season and the manager Arne Slot knows.
Liverpool will mark in clusters, but it is a question of doing well, in particular in defense and outside. With Trent Alexander-Arnold sold at Real Madrid and Andy Robertson now a safeguard, Liverpool’s strength for so long is largely in defense. This season, they will have a new attack line and will be sensitive to the counter while the new players determine how to obtain the right very important balance. It is the work for slots and experienced leaders like Virgil Van Dijk and Mohamed Salah to settle.
The Liverpool title offer can take a slightly fragile start when they try to understand everything. Add the absolutely Tragic loss of striker Diogo Jota this summer After being killed in a car accident and Liverpool worked a lot. But they will get there and the talent they have is indisputable. Can the big question: can all their new attacker players play together from the start? Liverpool is still the favorite to win the title, but there are many more questions than answers before the opening match.
For so long, Arsenal wanted and necessary, a front center forward to finish the chances of scoring goals. Now they have it in Viktor Gyokerres. The Swedish striker buried a head in their last pre-season match and you could see the cogs swirling inside the fans of the heads of Arsenal. “Do you wait, that’s it!?”
Comparisons with the moment when Erling Haaland arrived in Manchester City is abundant and although Gyokerers still have a long way to go to reach these levels, at a simplistic level, it should work. Arsenal creates so much chance, whipping in so many crosses and they won 14 games in the Premier League last season. The arrival of Gyokerres will surely help them win more of these tight matches and this will fill the gap of Liverpool while the Gunners aim to avoid a fourth consecutive place and finally win a trophy.
At this point, they will take the League Cup, the FA Cup and of course a very first title of the Champions League. But after a strong summer of early spending on the transfer market, Arsenal may never have been closer to the first League victory for the first time since 2004.
Manchester United Manager, Ruben Amorim, pressed the reset button after the first eight difficult months in charge. Last season was a meat in the Premier League, but United showed that they could still get up when they went to the Europa League final where they lost to Tottenham. This probably has done them service because they have no European action to worry about this season and Amorim can work longer and harder on the training field with his team.
In pre-season, all speeches were a change of culture in United. They moved to Marcus Rashford, while Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund are then, and a line was traced in the sand. This underperformance cannot continue. United added a real quality and an experience in attack with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko.
In the past 12 years that Sir Alex Ferguson has retired, there have been so many false blades about rekindling their glory days. Amorim is experiencing a finish among the first six and a strong cutting race is the very united need to achieve this season if they want to show people that they are back on the right track. United has gone through this reconstruction for most of the last decade, but it is still very similar to the current painful reconstruction of the Patriots of New England after the glory days of Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. But there is hope that United can be competitive and if they can remain solid on the defensive, they now have the right combination of players and characters in attack to win games.
The culture changes and the Amorim team had a brilliant pre-season. Can they continue in the middle of a difficult start to the season as they face all the Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea in their first five games?
Chelsea has a serious momentum before the new season while the young side of Enzo Maresca won the club World Cup, unexpectedly, this summer and that saw them grow with confidence. Cole Palmer is their star, but the new recruits Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Jamie Gittens will give them an additional advantage and a decisions in the last third.
This is the thing that Chelsea missed last season when the matches of the Maresca team but could not put the teams. They also have the Champions League to hope for and there is no slowdown in the signing of new players while Xavi Simons, Alejandro Garnacho and others are linked to movements at Stamford Bridge. The huge Chelsea team was the main reason they could win the club World Cup. If Maresca can balance and turn well, be careful.
Record nine Premier League teams will play in Europe
Get used to numerous Premier League teams who turn their alignments while a new team record will participate in European competitions this season. Six teams are in the Champions League with Liverpool, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Newcastle joined by Tottenham Hotspur thanks to the latter winning the Europa League last season. Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest will be in the Europa League and Crystal Palace is in the conference league. Having so many teams in Europe will be intriguing because the teams will be stretched at their limits, especially during the months of fall and winter.
Americans have 11 teams
There are now 11 teams out of the 20 in the Premier League which are entirely or partly published by the Americans. Two teams newly promoted to Leeds United and Burnley belong to groups based in the United States and with the Birmingham City duo (Tom Brady is involved) and Wrexham (Ryan Reynolds and Co.) in the second level, also belonging to 66% of the Americans of the Premier League.
Manchester City continues to wait for a verdict
After winning four consecutive titles, Pep Guardiola and Manchester City joined the third place last season when new signatures in January launched them. City added Ait-Nouri, Cherki and Reijnders in summer, and even if they are not favorites for the title, they will be up there. But there is still a lot of doubt about their future as a verdict concerning the 115 accusations of the Premier League against them (the accusations are still for a period from 2009 to 2018).
No one knows exactly what’s going on and when, as the city is firmly in their assertion that they are innocent. On the Pitch City will seek to become pretenders in the title and they should be up there. Outside the field, after many years of uncertainty, it is always a mystery which will then happen.
Promoted clubs can reverse the trend of instant relegation
Leeds passed a lot, well, while Burnley was also impressive with the transfers they made. But Sunderland may have surprised everyone the most. They were able to sign important players such as Granite Xhaka and Simon Adingra and the three new teams seem ready to try to stop the rot of newly promoted clubs.
In each of the last two years, the three promoted clubs have been instantly relegated and this has not been particularly competitive because the gap between the Premier League and the second level increases. But there is a real hope that these three learned from the mistakes of others, while Brentford, Bournemouth and Wolves have lost some of their best players this summer and the relegation scrap should be much closer.
