The National Democratic Committee seeks to update the technology it uses to help organize voters and volunteers in order to win future elections.
This is the first time that the DNC has been revised its technological infrastructure in almost 20 years, said a spokesperson for the DNC.
The new tools, which include a platform that helps democrats host and attend their own political events, were placed in an open property request process (DP) in April to guarantee suppliers who can provide the amalgamation of services.
“The DP has invited a wide range of tools, from contact technologies to innovative voters to rationalized volunteer management platforms,” the committee said on an ad Tuesday. “The DNC knows that Democrats had to redefine the tools we use to organize and communicate with voters and volunteers.”
Among the new tools is the matchbook, billed as A means of “transforming raw data into real strategy”, including supporting support and finding voters and volunteers. The company behind the matchbook, Indigo, is a relatively new entrant to the political and technical scene, having launched less than a year ago and obtained acquired by another companyStandard, in February.
“We are really delighted with an opportunity to help the DNC, the parties of the Democratic States and the Democratic candidates from top to bottom of the ballot to find new ways to organize their communities,” said CEO of Indigo, Max Wood, in an email. “We are particularly delighted to offer a new approach with regard to the basics of the collection and use of organizational programs. If everything is going well, Matchbook will help campaigns to develop more personal and long -term relationships with voters and supporters.”
The announcement comes as the party is struggling with an uncertain route to come.
The DNC comes out of a disappointing electoral cycle of 2024 and continues to deal with fundraising challenges. He had $ 15 million in hand At the end of June, well behind the $ 80 million in the National Republican Committee. Democratic Party poll Stay or close to the stockings of all time.
Many Democrats turned their back on the party last year for a number of reasons, notably former President Joe Biden go too lateVice-president Kamala Harris’ Do not distinguish yourself from your administration and disillusionment with Democrats because of their Position on the war in Gaza.
What was Once considered an advantage for Democrats – the organization in the field -based field at the end of the 2000s was considered as A boost for the presidential campaigns of Barack Obama – has more recently lost its shine. A May report by Higher Ground LabsA left venture capital fund noted that the efforts of democratic awareness had waded.
“Despite the awareness of the record scale by the text, the telephone and the door to door, the drop in voter engagement reveals stagnation in effective contact strategies of voters, highlighting the need for new methods that prioritize the real connection and the measurable impact, alongside technologies and data that can support them,” the group revealed.
The new technology includes a management system to help follow the interactions between the DNC, voters and volunteers; software that encourages “high quality interactions with voters”; And a platform to allow Democrats to participate in online and offline events.
The tools were selected for a pilot program, and the DNC will begin to use them immediately, including in the Democratic parties of New Jersey and Virginia before the elections in November, he said.
DNC president Ken Martin said that the committee’s objective is “to organize himself everywhere to win anywhere”.
“We take our responsibility seriously to ensure that democratic campaigns everywhere have the best most modern and effective tools available to engage with voters and win elections,” Martin said in a statement.
“We are delighted to pilot and invest in innovative and emerging technologies that will benefit the democratic ecosystem and campaigns for the years to come,” he added.
